October 16-17, 2019 in Odesa, Patriarchal Curia Commission on Monasticism met with diocesan officials and high superiors of monastic congregations of the UGCC.
The subject was “Canonical visitation as a productive constituent of management and duty of high superiors of monastic institutions in order to aim at monastic life in accordance with CCEC and within its law”.
Representatives of different archeparchies, eparchies, exarchates of the UGCC, superiors of men and women Church orders and communities came here together.
One of the reports was presented by bishop Bohdan Dziurakh, the Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC, where he covered practices and resolutions of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC.
Fr. Yonikiy Chverenchuk, OSBM, Vicar General of Basilian order of St. Josaphat delivered the second report. The third report belonged to Sr. Magdalyna Vytvitska, OSBM, where she outlined institutional and ecclesial aims of inmate visitations of communities of a consecrated life.
The scheduled days included daily prayers, Divine Liturgies, listening to the Gospel, conversations and dining; a sightseeing tour with visiting local churches helped many to explore Odesa.
